Early voting begins tomorrow: do you have all the information you need?

By now, most registered voters should have received a sample ballot in the mail. Please keep this sample ballot safe and accessible; it contains very important information on early voting locations, your precinct information, and candidates that will appear on your actual ballot.  In addition to the invaluable information contained on your sample ballot, there are a number of online resources for both newly-registered and veteran voters across the U.S. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions along with links to other resources provided by the American Civil Liberties Union, the Advancement Project, and the Nevada Secretary of State.

• First and foremost, newly-registered voters or voters who have recently made changes to their registration status should check with the Nevada Secretary of State’s website to ensure their information is correct.  Click here to check your information

Election Day is Tuesday, November 6, if you experience problems at the polls:

• and you are offered a “provisional ballot,” be sure to ask if you can cast a regular ballot by providing additional identification or going to another polling location. If no other option exists,  and you cannot make it to another location in time, be sure to cast your provisional ballot as a last resort.
• If you make a mistake or the voting machine malfunctions, tell a poll worker before casting your ballot. You have the right to correct any errors.
